THE MOLKENSTRASSE POST BUILDING IN ZURICH WAS REUSED
The former post office building on Molkenstrasse Zurich was completely renovated and converted from office use on the upper floors to residential use. The transformation of an office building into a residential building in the immediate vicinity of Helvetiaplatz and Langstrasse represents an exciting intervention in the existing building structure.
New retail stores will move into the ground floor, while office use will remain on the first and second floors, but will be internally connected over two floors.
The majority of the building was dismantled down to the shell and the previous office space on the three upper floors was transferred into small apartments and a few 3.5 room apartments.
In the southwest, the new apartments will have a balcony, and the roof areas will be activated as terraces for the general public.
