LABORATORY EXPANSION AT SCOPE-M, ETH ZURICH
A new electron microscope with laboratory rooms was installed in the ScopeM at ETH Zurich. The task was to integrate the highly complex technology and all of its pipe and energy connections and safety features in the existing space. For the electron microscope itself, a space secured with MU-metal sheets had to be constructed. MU-metal is a nickel-iron alloy and offers highly effective shielding from low-frequency magnetic interference fields, which is important for working with modern electron microscopes in order to achieve perfect results.
